ATV rider airlifted after crash in wooded area of Morris County, police say
JEFFERSON TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Morris County) — An ATV rider was airlifted to a hospital after a crash in a wooded area of Jefferson Township last month, according to police.
Jefferson Township police said officers responded May 17 to the area of Berkshire Valley Road and Blue Road for a reported ATV crash with injuries. Milton First Aid Squad, Jefferson Township Fire Company No. 1 and Jefferson Township Office of Emergency Management also responded.
Because the crash occurred in a wooded area, emergency responders used ATV vehicles to locate and reach the injured rider, police said.
The injured operator was removed from the woods and flown to Morristown Medical Center for treatment of injuries.
Police did not release the rider’s identity or provide information about the severity of the injuries.
The cause of the crash was not released.
