Authorities investigate homicide after resident found dead in Morris County home

CHESTER TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Morris County) — Authorities are investigating a homicide after a 35-year-old resident was found dead inside a Chester Township home last week, the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office said Saturday.

Emergency medical services personnel and Chester Township police officers responded to a 911 call at a residence on Pottersville Road during the late afternoon of June 6. Upon arrival, first responders discovered the resident deceased inside the home.

An examination conducted by the Morris County Medical Examiner’s Office determined the cause of death to be multiple sharp force injuries. The manner of death was ruled a homicide, prosecutor’s office said.

The investigation remains active and ongoing. The Morris County Prosecutor’s Office is working with the Chester Township Police Department and the Morris County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigation unit.

Authorities said no additional information is being released at this time in order to protect the integrity of the investigation.
