Hunterdon Medical Center oncology rehabilitation program earns Center of Excellence designation
RARITAN TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Hunterdon County) — The Oncology Rehabilitation Department at Hunterdon Medical Center has been recognized as a PORi Bronze Center of Excellence in Oncology Rehabilitation by the Physiological Oncology Rehabilitation Institute.
The designation recognizes rehabilitation centers that demonstrate clinical competency and integration of PORi’s specialized oncology rehabilitation framework. The Bronze-level designation acknowledges centers whose rehabilitation teams have completed PORi clinical coursework, consistently apply its assessment and treatment techniques, and remain committed to advancing clinical skills and standards of care.
“Earning the PORi BRONZE Center of Excellence designation reflects our team’s dedication to excellence in oncology rehabilitation. It is our privilege to provide patients with evidence-based treatment methods that foster resilience, aid recovery, and enhance their overall quality of life throughout their cancer journey and beyond.” said Ruth Kolody, PT, CLT, Board Certified Physical Therapist in Oncology Physical Therapy, senior Physical Therapist at Hunterdon Medical Center.
The oncology rehabilitation program provides services for patients at various stages of cancer treatment and survivorship. According to the medical center, the designation recognizes the facility’s use of research-based care delivered by PORi-certified professionals using established clinical frameworks.
Kimberly Whiteman, MSPT, a physical therapist at Hunterdon Medical Center, said the department remains committed to providing specialized oncology rehabilitation services and maintaining high standards of patient care.
With the designation, Hunterdon Medical Center joins a group of rehabilitation providers recognized by PORi for their commitment to improving outcomes for cancer patients through evidence-based rehabilitation services.
The Physiological Oncology Rehabilitation Institute’s Center of Excellence Program recognizes rehabilitation centers that demonstrate proficiency in oncology rehabilitation practices and ongoing commitment to clinical excellence.
