Bed Bath & Beyond launches hunt for oldest coupon, $100,000 home makeover giveaway

Bed Bath & Beyond has launched a nationwide promotion inviting customers to search for old coupons in exchange for discounts and a chance to win a $100,000 home makeover.

The company’s “Legendary Coupon Hunt” began June 22 and runs through July 13. The campaign aims to find the oldest surviving Bed Bath & Beyond coupon while celebrating the retailer’s iconic blue 20% off coupons that became a staple for generations of shoppers.

Customers can bring any Bed Bath & Beyond coupon — regardless of age, expiration date or condition — to participating Bed Bath & Beyond, The Container Store and Kirkland’s Home locations nationwide. Each coupon will be honored and entered into a sweepstakes.

The grand prize is a $100,000 Home Transformation package. Additional prizes include 100 gift cards valued at $500 each and 50 gift cards valued at $100 each.

According to the company, the grand prize winner will have the opportunity to redesign multiple areas of their home using products and services from Bed Bath & Beyond, The Container Store, Kirkland’s, Lumber Liquidators and Cabinets To Go.

“For decades, our customers treated these coupons like treasure,” said Amy Sullivan, President of Bed Bath & Beyond, Inc. “They tucked them into purses, filing cabinets, cookbooks and memory boxes because they believed they would be valuable someday. We think they were right. The Legendary Coupon Hunt is our way of celebrating the customers who helped build this brand while creating one of the biggest customer events in our history.”

The company said it expects customers across the country to search through drawers, scrapbooks, storage boxes and other places where old coupons may have been saved over the years.
