Chipotle to open Hackettstown restaurant this fall

HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. — Chipotle Mexican Grill is planning to open a new restaurant in Hackettstown this fall at the former KFC site on Mountain Avenue.

A company spokesperson confirmed the restaurant is scheduled to open at 230 Mountain Ave., where the KFC permanently closed in August 2023.

Chipotle is a fast-casual restaurant chain known for made-to-order burritos, burrito bowls, tacos, salads and quesadillas.

The new Hackettstown location is expected to create approximately 30 jobs, according to the spokesperson.

The company said employees will have access to competitive benefits, including a crew bonus program with the opportunity to earn up to an extra month’s pay each year, a debt-free college degree program, English as a Second Language courses, and access to mental health care for employees and their families.
