Mosquito spraying planned in 3 Morris County towns Friday morning

MORRIS COUNTY, N.J. — The Morris County Mosquito Commission plans to conduct early morning mosquito control treatments in parts of Rockaway, Hanover and Morris Plains on Friday, July 17, weather permitting.

The treatments are being scheduled due to an increase in adult mosquito populations and will take place between 4 a.m. and 7 a.m. using an all-terrain vehicle.

The commission said it will apply either Anvil 2+2, which contains the active ingredient sumithrin (EPA Registration No. 1021-1687-8329), or Zenivex E4, which contains the active ingredient etofenprox (EPA Registration No. 2724-807).

The planned treatment locations are:

  • Valley Road in Rockaway
  • Valley Forge Drive in the Heritage Woods section of Hanover
  • Jim Fear Drive in Morris Plains
