Hunterdon County provides update on transfer station operations, bulk waste disposal
CLINTON TOWNSHIP, NJ (Hunterdon County) — Hunterdon County Commissioner Shaun Van Doren is reminding residents that bulk waste drop-off remains unavailable at the Hunterdon County Transfer Station and that residents should continue using the Warren County Resource Recovery Facility until further notice.
Clinton Township residents also are advised that previously issued vouchers for a free one-time bulk waste drop-off at the transfer station cannot be used while the service remains unavailable.
“The County understands that changes to waste disposal options can be challenging for residents, and we appreciate everyone’s patience and cooperation,” Van Doren said. “We will continue to provide updates as they become available and encourage residents to take advantage of the recycling services and alternative disposal options currently available.”
The Hunterdon County Transfer Station remains open for residential curbside-type recycling.
Residents may drop off:
- Plastic and glass bottles, jars and jugs (1 gallon or smaller)
- Rinsed aluminum and steel cans
- Paper, cardboard and junk mail
Transfer Station recycling hours:
- Monday through Friday: 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Saturday: 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Residents seeking to dispose of bulk waste or construction debris may use private facilities, including PCF Waste & Recycling.
The county also continues to offer scheduled electronics recycling and household hazardous waste collection events throughout the year. Officials encourage residents to use those programs to properly dispose of electronics and other household materials requiring special handling.
