Driver, passenger charged after Route 10 traffic stop in Morris County

DENVILLE TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Morris County) — A Landing man and woman were charged after Denville police allegedly found controlled dangerous substances and drug paraphernalia during a traffic stop on Route 10 early Wednesday.

At approximately 12 a.m. July 22, officers observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on Route 10 East and conducted a motor vehicle stop after observing a traffic violation, according to the Denville Police Department.

During the investigation, officers allegedly located a controlled dangerous substance and drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle, police said.

The driver, Brittany Muccia, 34, of Landing, was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, operating a motor vehicle while in possession of a controlled dangerous substance, careless driving and failure to wear a seat belt.

The passenger, Christopher Lininger, 28, of Landing, was found to have an active $750 Automated Traffic System (ATS) warrant issued by the Ewing Township Municipal Court, police said.

Lininger was additionally charged with obstruction of justice, possession of a controlled dangerous substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Muccia was released pending a future appearance in Morris County Superior Court.

Lininger was also released on the new charges pending a future court appearance before being turned over to the Ewing Township Police Department on the outstanding warrant.
