Former Hunterdon County Sheriff’s Office employee indicted on sexual assault charges
MORRISTOWN, N.J. (Morris County) — A former civilian employee of the Hunterdon County Sheriff’s Office has been indicted on charges alleging he sexually assaulted a 13-year-old girl after providing her with alcohol at his Kingwood Township home, authorities said.
Christopher H. Kascik, 53, of Kingwood Township, was indicted by a Hunterdon County grand jury on Sept. 17, according to the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office.
The five-count indictment charges Kascik with second-degree sexual assault, third-degree endangering the welfare of a child — sexual conduct, third-degree endangering the welfare of a child — abuse, and two counts of fourth-degree criminal sexual contact.
Authorities allege Kascik provided alcoholic beverages to the 13-year-old girl at his Kingwood Township residence on March 29, 2025, causing her to become intoxicated. Kascik is accused of sexually assaulting the girl while she was intoxicated.
Kascik was initially charged on a warrant complaint on April 23, 2025. He was a civilian employee of the Hunterdon County Sheriff’s Office at the time of his arrest, according to prosecutors.
The Morris County Prosecutor’s Office was designated to prosecute the case in the Hunterdon Vicinage of Superior Court.
The Morris County Prosecutor’s Office Sex Crimes/Child Endangerment Unit and New Jersey State Police participated in the investigation.
