RANDOLPH TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Morris County) — County College of Morris has acquired The Joe Kubert School of Cartoon and Graphic Art, bringing the internationally recognized institution for comic and graphic storytelling education to its Randolph campus beginning this fall.
The integration, announced Wednesday, expands educational opportunities for students pursuing careers in comics, illustration, animation and graphic storytelling while continuing the Joe Kubert School’s 50-year legacy of training professional artists. A formal signing ceremony is scheduled for Aug. 17 at the CCM campus.
The Joe Kubert School’s specialized Cartoon and Graphic Art program will continue to operate as part of CCM through the college’s Center for Workforce Development.
“We are honored to welcome The Joe Kubert School into our community and to continue its extraordinary legacy of inspiring generations of artists and creators,” said Dr. Anthony Iacono, president of CCM. “By coming together, we are expanding opportunities for students to develop the artistic, technical and professional skills needed to thrive in today’s creative industries. This addition strengthens career pathways in animation, illustration, graphic storytelling and related fields while preserving the spirit and excellence that have made The Joe Kubert School so highly respected.”
The program brings longstanding industry relationships with companies including DC Comics, Marvel Comics, IDW Publishing and Dynamite Entertainment, providing students with opportunities to learn from working professionals and build industry connections. Alumni of the school have gone on to careers with organizations including Walt Disney Animation, Warner Bros. and Pixar Animation Studios.

In addition to specialized art instruction, students enrolled in the program will have access to CCM’s academic advising, tutoring, career services, transfer services, student well-being resources, veterans services, library, fitness center and more than 50 student clubs and organizations.
The Joe Kubert School at CCM will continue offering its full-time daytime certificate program, along with online courses and new in-person evening classes beginning in Fall 2026. Prospective students can learn more or apply by visiting www.kubertschool.edu.
