SNICKERS Ice Cream seeks fan for paid ‘Chief Online Chill Officer’ gig

SNICKERS Ice Cream is looking for one social media-savvy fan to serve as its first-ever “Chief Online Chill Officer,” a paid, two-week role designed to bring humor and positivity to the internet.

The nationwide search, which opened July 29, will select one person to help identify some of the internet’s most heated online moments and respond with humorous content and free SNICKERS Ice Cream coupons on behalf of the brand.

According to Mars, the person selected will create social media content, behind-the-scenes videos and vlogs while sampling the company’s SNICKERS Ice Cream Minis throughout the experience.

“If you’ve spent more than five minutes on social media lately, you’ve probably realized the internet has absolutely no chill,” said Chanel Gant, Mars Ice Cream senior marketing director. “SNICKERS Ice Cream Minis are all about delivering satisfaction in perfectly snackable bites, so we wanted to extend that same spirit online. We’re looking for someone that is quick with a comeback, comfortable on camera and ready to show that they have what it takes to help people chill this summer with SNICKERS Ice Cream Minis to bring fun to any situation.”

The hybrid position is based in the Chicago area and runs for nine business days, from Aug. 24 through Sept. 3. The selected applicant will receive compensation, an unofficial “C-suite” style title and what the company describes as “the ultimate bragging rights” for landing the summer role.

Applicants are asked to submit an application along with a short video explaining why they are the best candidate to help bring more “chill” to social media. Applications will be accepted through 11:59 p.m. ET on Aug. 4.

All applicants will also receive a digital coupon to try the new SNICKERS Ice Cream Minis, according to the company.

SNICKERS Ice Cream Minis, introduced earlier this year, are available in five varieties: Original, Crunchy Peanut Butter, Almond, Salted Caramel and a SNICKERS x M&M’S Minis flavor sold exclusively at Walmart.

Additional information, eligibility requirements and official rules are available at SNICKERS.com/ChiefOnlineChillOfficer.
