MADISON BOROUGH, N.J. (Morris County) — The body of a Parsippany man who had been reported missing was found Tuesday evening in a Madison park, according to the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office.
Cavan Londergan, 49, of Parsippany-Troy Hills, was reported missing to the Parsippany-Troy Hills Police Department on Aug. 2. During the investigation, authorities determined he was last seen in Madison on Aug. 3.
On Aug. 4, the New Jersey State Police Missing Persons Unit joined the investigation. Investigators developed a lead that directed them to Summerhill Park in Madison Borough.
A search involving the Madison Police Department, New Jersey State Police, the Morris County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit and the Morris County Office of Emergency Management was conducted at the park.
Authorities said Londergan’s body was located during the search on the evening of Aug. 4. The Morris County Prosecutor’s Office and the Morris County Medical Examiner’s Office responded to the scene.
The investigation remains active. At this time, authorities said the death is not believed to be suspicious.
Before his body was found, Madison police had asked the public for help locating Londergan after releasing a surveillance image showing him wearing a green T-shirt and khaki pants. He was described as a white man with a slim build, gray hair and blue eyes, standing approximately 5 feet, 10 inches tall.
