MORRIS COUNTY, N.J. — Members of the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office joined residents across the county this week to celebrate National Night Out, an annual event that promotes partnerships between law enforcement and the communities they serve.
Prosecutor’s office personnel participated in National Night Out events on Aug. 5 in Butler, Denville, Madison, Rockaway Borough and Morris Plains.
At each event, members of the prosecutor’s office staffed information tables, shared public safety resources with residents and distributed giveaways for children.
Some locations also featured representatives from the ARRIVE Together program, who spoke with community members about the initiative and its impact in Morris County. The program pairs law enforcement officers with mental health professionals to respond to certain behavioral health and crisis calls.
National Night Out was established in 1984 with funding from the Bureau of Justice Assistance of the U.S. Department of Justice and is administered by the National Association of Town Watch, a nationwide nonprofit organization.
