HUNTERDON COUNTY, N.J. — Hunterdon County has rolled out an enhanced version of its Explore Hunterdon tourism website, adding new trip-planning tools, expanded event listings and other features aimed at attracting visitors and supporting local businesses.
Economic Development and Tourism Director Marc Saluk presented the upgrades to the Hunterdon County Board of County Commissioners during its Aug. 4 meeting.
The redesigned website features updated navigation and aesthetics along with tools intended to help visitors find attractions, restaurants, farms, wineries, breweries, parks, shops and cultural destinations throughout the county.
Commissioners Jeff Kuhl and Susan J. Soloway, co-liaisons to the county Department of Economic Development and Tourism, said the changes are part of the county’s efforts to promote tourism and economic development.
“Tourism is an important driver of Hunterdon County’s economy, supporting local businesses, creating jobs, and showcasing everything that makes our communities unique,” said Commissioner Jeff Kuhl. “The enhanced Explore Hunterdon website gives visitors an exceptional planning experience while encouraging them to spend more time discovering our downtowns, farms, parks, restaurants, wineries, and countless attractions throughout the county.”
Among the additions is a new Visit Widget available throughout the website that allows users to build customized itineraries based on their interests.
The website also includes a redesigned calendar with more detailed event listings and a growing collection of blogs and feature articles covering seasonal activities, suggested itineraries and destinations around the county.
Explore Hunterdon’s 579 Trail and HuntArts initiatives have also been incorporated into the platform as dedicated microsites.
County officials said the changes are designed to make trip planning easier while highlighting Hunterdon County’s outdoor recreation, agritourism, restaurants and other culinary destinations, arts and cultural attractions, shopping and downtown areas.
“Whether someone is visiting for a weekend getaway or simply looking for a new experience close to home, the redesigned Explore Hunterdon website provides the tools and inspiration to help them make the most of their visit,” Soloway said. “These enhancements strengthen our tourism efforts while supporting the businesses, farms, restaurants, retailers, and cultural organizations that contribute to Hunterdon County’s vibrant economy.”
County officials said the enhanced platform is part of a broader effort to use digital marketing and technology to attract new visitors, encourage return trips and support economic development.
