Sussex County Library System celebrates Library Card Sign-up Month with September giveaways
SUSSEX COUNTY, N.J. — The Sussex County Library System is celebrating Library Card Sign-up Month in September with giveaways for residents who get, use or renew a library card or refer someone new to the system.
Throughout September, anyone who gets, uses or renews an SCLS library card will automatically be entered to win a library-themed prize bundle. One winner will be selected at each participating branch.
The bundle includes a lunch box, umbrella, 40-ounce travel tumbler with straw and a tote bag.
SCLS is also offering a Refer-a-Friend contest. Participants can pick up a referral sheet at an SCLS branch or the Dot Mobile Library and provide it to a friend, neighbor or family member.
The person being referred must bring the completed form to an SCLS branch or the Mobile Library and obtain a new library card by Sept. 30. Both people will then be entered to win a grand prize consisting of gift cards for area food and entertainment, with a total value of $75 for each winner.
Library cards provide access to more than books. Cardholders can attend free workshops and events, download audiobooks, stream movies, use online learning resources and borrow items including museum passes, cake pans and Wi-Fi hotspots.
People can obtain a card by visiting an SCLS branch or the Dot Mobile Library with proof of residency or employment. Applications can also be completed online.
SCLS library cards are available to people who live, work or attend school in Sussex County, except Sparta Township.
