Hackettstown man faces terroristic threats charge after knife incident

HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. (Warren County) — A Hackettstown man was charged after police said he threatened a resident with knives during an incident at a home in town.

Hackettstown police responded to a report of a man threatening a resident with knives, according to authorities.

Upon arrival, officers located Adam David Ribecca, 32, of Hackettstown, standing in the yard holding a knife, police said.

Authorities said Ribecca complied with police commands, dropped the weapon and was detained without incident.

During the investigation, officers learned Ribecca allegedly threatened to slash tires and stab the resident upon their return home, police said.

Two knives were recovered from the scene and secured as evidence, according to authorities.

Police said Ribecca displayed signs of a mental health crisis and was transported to a hospital for evaluation.

Criminal charges for terroristic threats were approved and a summons was issued, police said.
