Frenchtown Riverfest returns Sunday with live music, vendors, food and family activities
FRENCHTOWN BOROUGH, N.J. (Hunterdon County) — Frenchtown’s annual Riverfest will return Sunday, Sept. 6, bringing live music, local vendors, food, entertainment and family activities to the Hunterdon County borough.
The event will run from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. along Bridge Street and at Sunbeam Park. Established in 2004, Riverfest is an annual celebration of life along the Delaware River held on the Sunday of Labor Day weekend.
More than 60 local vendors are expected to participate, including artists, nonprofit organizations and other exhibitors offering pottery, woodworking, jewelry, clothing and other items. More than five food vendors will also be on hand.
Live music and performances will take place on two stages throughout the day, with about 20 musical acts and performances scheduled.
The Bridge Street stage lineup begins at noon with Me at the Zoo, followed by Fiesta Cubano at 1 p.m., Robbie Mojave & The Great Collide at 2 p.m., Mike Wojik and The Canning Co. at 3 p.m., Miss Laurie and the Saddletones at 4 p.m., Christina Ward at 5 p.m. and Clover & Sundream at 6 p.m. Fire dancing with Regal Heart Fire Art is scheduled for 7 p.m.
Activities at Sunbeam Park begin at 11 a.m. with a Lenape opening, followed by the Frenchtown Vikings parade at 11:15 a.m. and Lenape drumming at 11:45 a.m. Eyes of the Wild is scheduled for 12:30 p.m., followed by The Sotold Family Band at 1:30 p.m., Pentley Holmes & Dan Cass at 2:30 p.m., Mari Byrd at 3:30 p.m., Rich Cahill at 4:30 p.m. and Gerard Bernard at 5:30 p.m.
Other attractions include paper boat races, family-friendly magician and entertainer Doug Miller, the Frenchtown Vikings, representatives from the Lenape Nation of Pennsylvania and a free bike valet.
A beer tent featuring Wild Fern Brewing will operate at Sunbeam Park from noon to 6 p.m.
Food options will include participating Frenchtown restaurants as well as Riverfest vendors offering barbecue, Caribbean and Cajun cuisine, mini doughnuts, kettle corn, lemonade, hamburgers and hot dogs.
Free parking will be available at municipal lots on Race Street, River Road and Front Street, as well as Frenchtown Borough Park on Creek Road. A free parking area and bus shuttle will also be available at Old Frenchtown Field at 10th Street and Harrison Street.
Bridge Street will be closed from Trenton Avenue to Front Street from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday. Motorists should follow posted detours and expect traffic delays.
