Rumble strips installed on section of Route 46 westbound in Mount Olive Township to enhance traffic safety

MOUNT OLIVE TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – As part of ongoing efforts to improve traffic safety and reduce accidents, Mount Olive Township has announced the installation of rumble strips along Route 46 West, specifically just west of the Naughright Road intersection.

This initiative, coordinated with the New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT), Mount Olive Township Administration, the Mount Olive Township Council, and Mayor Nicastro, is aimed at increasing driver awareness of the sharp curves and steep descent in this area of the highway.

“This will reduce the occurrence of crashes and slow the speed of vehicles traveling in this area,” police said.

Mount Olive Township continues to collaborate with all involved agencies to enhance road safety for residents and commuters traveling through the area, police stated.

“This is just one of many ways the Mount Olive Township Police Department’s Traffic Unit is working with local and state stakeholders to improve road safety,” said Mount Olive Township Police Chief Michael Spitzer.
