I-80 westbound ramp to Route 206 north to close overnight in Mount Olive for drainage repairs
MOUNT OLIVE TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Morris County) — The westbound Exit 25 ramp from Interstate 80 to Route 206 north will be closed overnight Friday into Saturday for drainage repairs in Mount Olive, according to the New Jersey Department of Transportation.
The closure will begin at 9 p.m. Friday, March 13, and continue until 10 a.m. Saturday, March 14, as crews replace drainage pipes and repair inlets along the roadway.
Motorists traveling west on I-80 who normally use Exit 25 to reach Route 206 north will be detoured during the work.
Under the detour, drivers will be directed to continue west on I-80 and take Exit 19 to County Route 517 toward Hackettstown, Allamuchy and Andover. At the end of the ramp, motorists should stay left and turn left onto County Route 517, then turn left to access the ramp to I-80 eastbound toward Dover. Drivers will then take Exit 25 to Route 206 north toward Stanhope and Newton.
The work is part of a $12 million state-funded maintenance project aimed at improving drainage systems in multiple locations across Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Morris, Passaic, Sussex, Union and Warren counties.
Transportation officials said variable message signs will notify drivers of traffic changes related to the project. Motorists are advised that schedules may change due to weather or other conditions.
