Washington woman killed after car strikes tree off I-78 exit ramp in Hunterdon County
BLOOMSBURY BOROUGH, N.J. (Hunterdon County) — A 37-year-old Washington woman was killed Wednesday morning when her vehicle ran off an Interstate 78 exit ramp and struck a tree in Bloomsbury Borough, according to New Jersey State Police.
Troopers responded to the crash at 7:32 a.m. on I-78 west at milepost 7.4, state police spokesman Trooper II Christopher Postorino said.
A preliminary investigation found Cassandra J. Battaglia was driving a Kia passenger vehicle west on the Exit 7 ramp from I-78 to Route 173 when the vehicle traveled off the left side of the roadway and struck a tree, Postorino said.
Battaglia sustained fatal injuries in the crash.
The crash remains under investigation, and no additional information was available.
