
Man accused of driving under the influence after rear-end crash on I-80 in Morris County, state police say
DENVILLE TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Morris County) — A Stanhope man was arrested after state police determined he was under the influence following a rear-end crash on Interstate 80 in Denville Township on Saturday afternoon, according to New Jersey State Police spokesman Trooper II Christopher Postorino.
Troopers responded at 3:35 p.m. to I-80 west at milepost 38.4, where a rear-end collision occurred between a Toyota minivan and a Toyota SUV, Postorino said.
No injuries were reported at the scene.
During the investigation, troopers determined that the driver of the Toyota SUV, John R. Colgate IV, 45, of Stanhope, was under the influence and arrested him, according to Postorino.
Colgate was charged with motor vehicle offenses and released pending a future court date.
The case remains under investigation, and no additional information is available.
