WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Morris County) — A 72-year-old Washington Township man has been sentenced to five years in state prison for sexually assaulting a child, according to the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office.
Gregory Rademacher was sentenced Aug. 28 by Superior Court Judge Robert Hanna to five years in New Jersey State Prison for second-degree sexual assault, subject to the No Early Release Act, and a concurrent three-year prison term for third-degree endangering the welfare of a child.
Rademacher pleaded guilty to both charges on Nov. 20, 2025.
Under the No Early Release Act, Rademacher must serve 85% of the five-year sentence before becoming eligible for parole. He will also be subject to Megan’s Law and parole supervision for life and is prohibited from having contact with the victim.
The investigation began in July 2025 after a 10-year-old child disclosed that Rademacher had committed multiple acts of sexual contact while the child was visiting his Washington Township residence, prosecutors said.
During the execution of a search warrant, investigators recovered numerous electronic devices that were found to contain child sexual abuse material, according to the Prosecutor’s Office.
Rademacher was arrested Aug. 4, 2025, and had been held at the Morris County Correctional Facility pending the resolution of the case.
The investigation was conducted by the Washington Township Police Department and the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office Sex Crimes/Child Endangerment Unit.
