Hackettstown Oktoberfest returns this weekend; road closures, parking restrictions announced
HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. (Warren County) — Hackettstown Oktoberfest returns this weekend for its 10th year, bringing two days of food, drinks, live entertainment, vendors and family activities to downtown Hackettstown.
The Hackettstown Business Improvement District-sponsored event will be held from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, and Sunday, Sept. 27, along Main Street, Grand Avenue and Valentine Street.
The event will feature German food and drinks, artisan vendors and crafters, live music and entertainment, a roaming oompah band, stein-holding competitions, wiener dog races and family-friendly activities and a kids zone, according to the BID.
Vendors will close at 6 p.m. each day, but activities will continue at different locations throughout the evening. Streets are scheduled to reopen at 8 p.m.
The Town of Hackettstown has announced several road closures and parking restrictions for both days of the event.
Route 46, or Main Street, between Route 517, or High Street, and Liberty Street; Valentine Street between Main Street and Washington Street; and Grand Avenue between Main Street and Washington Street will be closed from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
Parking will be prohibited during the event on Main Street between Liberty Street and Grand Avenue; Valentine Street between Main Street and Washington Street; Liberty Street between Franklin Street and Main Street; and Franklin Street between Liberty Street and High Street.
Vehicles parked in designated no-parking areas will be ticketed and towed, according to the town.
Residents and visitors are encouraged to plan alternate routes and expect traffic delays in the area.
