“Congratulations to all of Hunterdon County’s artists who were recognized at the state level,” said Hunterdon County Commissioner Shaun Van Doren, Liaison to the department of Human & Senior Services. “These awards are a wonderful reflection of the talent, creativity and continued enthusiasm of our senior residents. It is especially rewarding to see their work receive recognition beyond Hunterdon County.”

County officials said the artists’ accomplishments also highlight opportunities available through the Hunterdon County Senior Center, which offers programs and activities for residents age 60 and older focused on creativity, lifelong learning, health and wellness and social connections.

“The Senior Center is a great place for our older residents to stay active, meet new people and pursue interests that bring them joy,” Van Doren said. “The Senior Art Show is just one example of the many ways our seniors can share their talents and connect with others. I encourage Hunterdon County seniors to explore what the Senior Center has to offer and find a program or activity that interests them.”

The Hunterdon County Senior Center is located at 4 Gauntt Place, Building No. 1, in Flemington and is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
