Atlantic Health names Vicki LoPachin executive vice president, chief medical officer

MORRISTOWN, N.J. (Morris County) — Atlantic Health has named Dr. Vicki LoPachin its executive vice president and chief medical officer, placing her in a senior leadership role focused on clinical strategy, quality, safety and patient care across the health system.

Atlantic Health announced the appointment Monday, saying LoPachin will work across the organization to advance high-quality, value-based care and oversee efforts involving performance improvement and clinical excellence.

“With decades of hands-on clinical experience and proven strategic and operational leadership, Vicki is perfectly positioned to achieve our cutting-edge clinical vision,” said Saad Ehtisham, President and CEO, Atlantic Health. “We look forward to her advancement of quality and safety, clinical research, and medical education, and know she will elevate the voice of our clinicians and educators while improving patient outcomes and satisfaction.”

In her new role, LoPachin will help shape clinical initiatives and care delivery models around Atlantic Health’s strategic priorities. Her responsibilities will include developing care pathways intended to improve patient access, supporting transitions of care and advancing the health system’s value-based care strategies.

LoPachin has more than 20 years of experience spanning academic medicine, multi-hospital health systems and private practice, according to Atlantic Health.

Most recently, she served as senior vice president and chief medical officer at Mount Sinai Health System. There, she helped lead efforts involving enterprise quality, patient safety and regulatory strategy, as well as the health system’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Atlantic Health said LoPachin also has emphasized equity and inclusion throughout her leadership career.

Born and raised in Northwest NJ, Jay has a degree in Communications and has had a life-long interest in local radio and various styles of music. Jay has held numerous jobs over the years such as stunt car driver, bartender, voice-over artist, traffic reporter (award winning), NY Yankee maintenance crewmember and peanut farm worker. His hobbies include mountain climbing, snowmobiling, cooking, performing stand-up comedy and he is an avid squirrel watcher.
