Police identify those involved in fatal Route 206 crash in Sussex County

ANDOVER TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Sussex County) — Police have released the identities of the three people involved in a head-on crash on Route 206 in Andover Township Saturday afternoon that left one person dead and two others hospitalized.

The crash occurred at about 2:15 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 5, on Route 206 near the Andover Borough line by D&E Service Center.

Police said a 2015 Ford Fusion driven by Katherine Tevis, 60, of Lake Hiawatha, was traveling north on Route 206 when it veered into the southbound lane and collided head-on with a 2018 Nissan Murano driven by Patricia Consentino, 58, of Andover Township.

Consentino was airlifted to Morristown Medical Center, while Katherine Tevis was transported by Atlantic EMS to Morristown Medical Center.

Nancy Tevis, 83, of Hopatcong, was a passenger in the Ford Fusion. She was transported by ambulance to Newton Medical Center, where she was later pronounced dead.

Newton police, New Jersey State Police, Byram police, the Andover Township and Andover Borough fire departments, New Jersey State Conservation Police, New Jersey State Park Police, the Sussex County Prosecutor’s Office, Atlantic EMS, Lakeland EMS, Atlantic MedEvac, NorthSTAR and St. Clare’s MICU assisted at the scene.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Andover Township Police Department and the Sussex County Prosecutor’s Office.
