CALIFON BOROUGH, N.J. (Hunterdon County) — Hunterdon County Commissioner Susan J. Soloway attended the New Jersey Farm Bureau’s “Get to Know NJ Farm Bureau” event Monday, Oct. 5, at Pinnacle Farm in Califon, highlighting the importance of supporting local farmers and preserving the county’s agricultural heritage.
The event provided an opportunity for Soloway to meet with Farm Bureau representatives, discuss challenges and opportunities facing agricultural producers and learn more about the organization’s efforts to support New Jersey’s farming community.
“Agriculture is a cornerstone of Hunterdon County’s heritage, economy, and rural character, and it is essential that we continue supporting the farmers who contribute so much to our communities,” said Commissioner Soloway. “I appreciated the opportunity to learn more about the New Jersey Farm Bureau and the important work they do to advocate for our agricultural producers. Maintaining a strong agricultural industry is vital to preserving the unique character of Hunterdon County for future generations.”
During her visit, Soloway also toured portions of Pinnacle Farm and met some of the farm’s horses, including one named Tina.
The visit highlighted the agricultural and equestrian traditions that remain an important part of Hunterdon County’s rural landscape.

Through partnerships with the Hunterdon County Board of Agriculture and other local organizations, the Farm Bureau works to ensure farmers have a voice in policy discussions and access to information and resources needed to maintain their agricultural operations.
Hunterdon County officials said preserving farmland and supporting local agricultural businesses remain priorities as the county works to protect its rural character.
The county also emphasized the importance of collaboration among farmers, agricultural organizations and local government in maintaining the long-term viability of agriculture in Hunterdon County.
