Morris County man charged with stalking following alleged harassment of neighbor, police say
MOUNT OLIVE TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Morris County) — A 28-year-old Budd Lake man was arrested and charged with stalking following an investigation into alleged ongoing harassment of a neighbor in Mount Olive Township, according to police.
Dominick J. Fernandez, 28, of Budd Lake, was arrested Monday, Oct. 12, after officers responded to a residence in the Budd Lake section of the township at approximately 3:56 p.m. for a report of ongoing harassment, police said.
When officers arrived, they observed workers from the New Jersey Division of Child Protection and Permanency (DCPP) at the residence.
During the investigation, officers determined that Fernandez had allegedly made a report to DCPP that prompted the agency’s response to his neighbor’s home, police said.
According to police, the report was the latest in a series of confrontations between Fernandez and his neighbor, which allegedly included yelling, explicit language and false reports to law enforcement.
Fernandez was taken into custody and transported to police headquarters, where he was charged with stalking.
He was subsequently lodged in the Morris County Correctional Facility pending a court hearing.
