Woman gets probation for stealing from Wallkill Valley Junior Football and Cheerleading organization
NEWTON, NJ (Sussex County) – A Sussex County woman was sentenced to probation for stealing from the Wallkill Valley Junior Football and Cheerleading organization, according to Sussex County Prosecutor Francis Koch.
Justine Lynn, 44, of Franklin was sentenced before the Honorable Michael C. Gaus, J.S.C. at the Sussex County Courtroom in Newton on May 20, Koch said.
Lynn was sentenced to one year non-custodial probation. She was ordered to complete 100 hours of community service, submit a DNA sample, and pay $155.00 in fines and fees and restitution totaling $7,500. The restitution must be paid within 45 days of sentencing, Koch said.
Lynn pled guilty on February 28 to third-degree theft, Koch said.
Lynn admitted while serving as treasurer of the organization, she unlawfully took money belonging to Wallkill Valley Junior Football and Cheerleading Inc., and took the same for her own personal use purposely depriving the owner thereof, Koch said.
Lynn was represented by Martin Morrison, Esq., and the State was represented by Assistant Prosecutor Sally Anne Monkemeier.
