Aggressive fox reported in Bethlehem Township after attacking dog, mayor says

BETHLEHEM TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Hunterdon CountY) — Residents in a section of Hunterdon County were warned Saturday afternoon about an aggressive fox after the animal reportedly attacked a large dog earlier in the day, according to Bethlehem Township Mayor Paul J. Muir.

Muir said the township’s animal control officer issued an alert for the area of Hoffman Lane, Thomas Road and Pfauth Drive.

According to Muir, the fox is skinny and is believed to possibly have a virus causing its aggressive behavior. He said the animal did not appear to have rabies or mange.
