Allamuchy fire crews respond to crashes, porch fire over two-day span

ALLAMUCHY TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Warren County) — Fire crews responded to multiple incidents, including two motor vehicle crashes and a small porch fire, over a two-day period, according to the Allamuchy Fire Department.

On Monday morning, firefighters were dispatched at about 8:42 a.m. to the Interstate 80 eastbound on-ramp for a crash involving a vehicle that left the roadway and entered a wooded area.

Crews arrived to find the vehicle had struck a tree. The driver reported no injuries. Firefighters provided traffic control and remained on scene until about 10 a.m., officials said.

On Tuesday evening, crews were called to Meadowlark Lane for a reported small fire on a home’s rear porch. Upon arrival, responders found the fire had largely been extinguished by the homeowner using a garden hose.

Firefighters stretched a hose line, confirmed the fire was fully out and checked for any extension into the home. Crews remained on scene for about an hour.

Later Tuesday night, firefighters responded to a crash near Route 517 and Bald Eagle Drive involving a rollover with reported entrapment.

Officials said the driver was not injured but needed assistance exiting the vehicle due to its position. Crews removed the windshield to allow the driver to safely exit and then provided traffic control.

Firefighters operated at the scene for about an hour before clearing, officials said.
