Authorities identify victim in Morris County homicide

CHESTER TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Morris County) — The Morris County Prosecutor’s Office has identified the victim in an ongoing homicide investigation as Brooke Hanlon, 35, of Chester.

Emergency medical services personnel and Chester Township police officers responded to a 911 call at a residence on Pottersville Road during the late afternoon of June 6. Upon arrival, first responders found Hanlon dead inside the home.

An examination by the Morris County Medical Examiner’s Office determined the cause of death was multiple sharp force injuries. The manner of death was ruled a homicide, authorities said.

The Morris County Prosecutor’s Office, Chester Township Police Department and the Morris County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigation unit continue to investigate the case.

Authorities said no additional information is being released at this time to protect the integrity of the investigation.
