Authorities warn against driving on Spruce Run Reservoir bed as water levels fall to 32.5%

CLINTON, NJ (Hunterdon County) – As the water level at the Spruce Run Reservoir drops, local authorities are reminding residents and visitors that driving on the reservoir bed is strictly prohibited.

This reminder comes after several incidents of vehicles becoming stuck in the mud, prompting tow trucks to be called and citations to be issued.

As of November 8, the reservoir is at 32.5% of its capacity, a low level for the area. The lowest recorded level occurred in January 2002, when the water dropped to 31.6%.
