Biennial inspections scheduled near Easton-Phillipsburg (Route 22) Toll Bridge during week of May 12
Personnel from the Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission’s general engineering consultant are scheduled to conduct inspections in the vicinity of the Easton-Phillipsburg (Route 22) Toll Bridge during the week of May 11.
Inspections are set for Monday, May 12, Tuesday, May 13, and Thursday, May 14 on the Route 22 approach bridges over PA Route 611, Third Street, and Bank Street in Easton, as well as the Route 22 approach bridge over Broad Street in Phillipsburg, the commission said.
Travel restrictions will be in effect on the toll bridge itself on the following days:
- Thursday, May 15, from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.: Route 22 westbound will be reduced to a single lane (one of two westbound lanes open).
- Friday, May 16, from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.: Route 22 eastbound will be reduced to a single lane (one of two eastbound lanes open).
Motorists are advised to slow down and use caution when traveling through coned-off areas during inspection activities. Travel delays are not expected, but all scheduled restrictions may change due to weather, emergencies, or other factors, the commission said.
