Bill for farmland preservation funding passes committee

NEW JERSEY – The Senate Budget and Appropriations Committee passed Senator Parker Space’s (R-24) bill that would appropriate $3,750,990 in Corporate Business Tax revenue to the State Agriculture Development Committee (SADC) for farmland preservation purposes.

“As someone with strong ties to the farming community, I know first-hand how important it is to keep working farmland in production to help keep farmers on the farm,” said Space. “This bill is about more than preserving land, it’s about preserving a way of life. Using these funds will give our counties the tools and resources they need to protect agriculture for generations to come and benefit the many New Jerseyans who enjoy the fruits of that labor.”
