Body recovered from Morris County river

DOVER, NJ (Morris County) — A body was recovered from the Rockaway River in Dover on Tuesday evening, according to Meghan Knab, Public Information Officer for the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office.

On April 8, at around 7:30 p.m., the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office and Dover Police responded to a report of a body found in the river near 338 East Blackwell Street, Knab said.

Investigators identified the body as that of Antonio Omar Hernandez Santos, 46, of Dover.

A post-mortem examination was conducted by the Morris County Medical Examiner’s Office, and the cause of death remains pending, Knab said.

“While the investigation remains ongoing at this time, the cause of death is not suspected to be criminal,” Knab said.
