Burned HVAC motor causes smoke at Warren County school

ALLAMUCHY TOWNSHIP, NJ (Warren County) – A burned HVAC motor caused smoke to enter Mountain Villa School in Allamuchy Township on Tuesday morning.

On April 8, at 10:11 a.m., the Allamuchy Fire Department was called to the Mountain Villa School for a reported smoke condition in the building, authorities said.

Fire crews responded within minutes of dispatch. Upon arrival, crews determined that HVAC work on the roof had led to a burnt motor, causing smoke to enter the building, officials said.

Crews thoroughly checked both the HVAC units and the interior of the building, reporting negative findings. After ensuring the building was safe, the crews cleared the scene, allowing students to reenter the school, authorities said.
