Ribbon-cutting marks grand opening of Byram Trading Post, Byram Stone

BYRAM TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Sussex County) — The Byram Trading Post and Byram Stone officially opened their doors Saturday, celebrating their grand opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by township officials, family, friends and community members.

The ceremony was held at 198 Route 206 North, the former Mountainside Cafe property, with Byram Township Mayor Alexander Rubenstein joining owners Louis and Andrea Coviello for the celebration.

The Byram Trading Post offers a wide selection of merchandise, including antiques, boating and camping supplies, Jerzey Girl Pickles, products from The Chocolate Shoppe in Long Valley, Chester Meat Market, Family Kitchen Ravioli, ice cream, jams, dressings, honey and baked goods from Ort Farms.

The event also marked the grand opening of Byram Stone, a garden supply center located behind the trading post. The business is operated by Louis Coviello along with his children, Rudy and Annette Coviello.

Mayor Rubenstein welcomed the businesses to the township and encouraged residents to visit.

“Good to see a new business pop up into town. I’d suggest every one stop by and take a look, there is quite a broad collection of gifts, ice cream, food, produce, snacks, art, antiques, and so on. Definitely something for everyone,” Rubenstein said.

The two businesses occupy the former Mountainside Cafe property, which was renovated before reopening under its new ownership.
