MOUNT OLIVE TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – A cat was uninjured after jumping from a tree during a rescue attempt in Mount Olive Township.

On Saturday afternoon the Budd Lake Fire Department responded to a residence on Lozier Road for a cat stuck in a tree behind the home 40 feet into the woods.

Fire crews responded and used a 35-foot ladder to get the cat from the tree about 30 feet up.

One firefighter went up the ladder and the cat was able to jump down where a second firefighter broke its fall, and the cat ran back home.

“Happy end. As a Fire Department we do it all,” the fire department wrote on their Facebook page.
