CCM President Dr. Anthony J. Iacono named top community college leader in New Jersey by BINJE

RANDOLPH TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Morris County) — County College of Morris President Dr. Anthony J. Iacono has been named the top community college leader in New Jersey by Business in New Jersey…everyday as part of the publication’s inaugural “Best: Higher Education Leaders 2026” rankings.

The recognition was announced by County College of Morris, which said the list highlights higher education leaders, programs and priorities shaping colleges and universities across the state.

“I am honored and humbled to be recognized by BINJE as the top community college leader in the state,” said Iacono. “It is truly a reflection of the hundreds of talented individuals who pour themselves into CCM each day. I am grateful for the opportunity to lead and work alongside them to continue fulfilling our mission of changing lives and strengthening communities. It is also a privilege to serve alongside so many exceptional community college leaders in New Jersey.”

According to the college, Iacono was recognized for efforts related to student success, workforce development and expanding programs in high-demand industries.

CCM recently became one of two community colleges selected for New Jersey’s first U.S. Department of Labor-registered Data Scientist and Artificial Intelligence Apprenticeship through a partnership with the New Jersey AI Hub in Princeton.

Under Iacono’s leadership, the college has expanded its facilities and academic offerings, including development of an Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering Center and the Center for Entrepreneurship & Culinary Science.

The college also is constructing an 80,000-square-foot Center for Health Professions, which will expand healthcare-related programs including dental hygiene, dental assisting, nursing, radiography and respiratory therapy.

College officials said CCM graduates approximately 1,000 students annually and maintains one of the state’s highest graduation and transfer rates among community colleges.

According to the college, CCM generated $586.1 million in added regional income during the 2022-23 fiscal year.

Iacono has served as president of CCM since 2016 and previously has been recognized by organizations and publications including NJBIZ, New Jersey Business Magazine and ROI-NJ.
