HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. (Warren County) — Centenary University’s School of Natural, Health, Social, and Behavioral Sciences recently recognized 15 students for academic excellence, leadership and community commitment during honor society inductions in the natural, health and social sciences.
Students were inducted into the Omega Rho Chapter of Beta Beta Beta, the national biology honor society, and Phi Alpha, the national social work honor society. The university also recognized graduating seniors from Phi Alpha and Psi Chi, the international honor society for psychology, whose induction ceremony was held in December.
“I am extremely proud of all the students inducted, who represent the very best of what Centenary has to offer—individuals defined not only by academic excellence, but also by intellectual curiosity, leadership, and a deep commitment to improving the communities around them,” said Douglas Compton, Ed.D., dean of the School of Natural, Health, Social and Behavioral Sciences and coordinator of criminal justice studies.
Among the honorees were students from across New Jersey, including Bergen, Morris, Passaic, Sussex, Union and Warren counties.
From Morris County, students recognized included Pilar Giaquinto of Flanders; Isabelle Devieux and Anne Panagakos of Long Valley; and Kaitlyn Holveck of Mount Arlington. Sussex County honorees included Giana Piccirillo of Andover and Autumn Richter of Lafayette. In Warren County, students honored included Jillian Ulanowski of Great Meadows, Gabriela Vasconcelos of Hackettstown, Crystal Montgomery of Phillipsburg, Jayden Pennella of Roxbury and Serafina Lopez of Washington, who serves as Psi Chi president.
Additional students recognized included Anthony Tardibuono of Rutherford, Eddie Pol of Haskell and Jilyan Moorman of Mountainside. One student from Pennsylvania, William Garrity of Easton, was also honored.
