Morris County Surrogate’s Court honors veterans, highlights partnership supporting local heroes

MORRISTOWN, N.J. (Morris County) — Morris County Surrogate Heather J. Darling and staff at the Morris County Surrogate’s Court are honoring the men and women who have served in the United States Armed Forces this Veterans Day, recognizing their courage, sacrifice, and lasting contributions to the community.

Surrogate Darling expressed her gratitude to all who have worn the uniform, noting the importance of remembering not only their service but also their ongoing impact in civilian life.

The Morris County Surrogate’s Court continues to partner closely with the Morris County Veterans Services Office to ensure veterans and their families are aware of and connected to the benefits they have earned. Through this collaboration, veteran survivors visiting the Surrogate’s Office receive guidance and information to help them access essential resources, including burial benefits, memorial certificates, grave markers, and other available programs.

The partnership underscores Morris County’s ongoing commitment to honoring and supporting veterans and their families, particularly during times of loss and transition.

“As the community gathers to honor Veterans Day, I encourage all residents to take a moment to thank our veterans for their unwavering dedication and sacrifice,” Darling said.
