Centenary Stage Company hosts Fringe Festival 2024 with three productions in November

HACKETTSTOWN, NJ (Warren County) — Centenary Stage Company will launch its 2024-2025 season with the Fringe Festival 2024, featuring three compelling productions: Dr. Glas, My Buddy, and Courage.

Performances will take place in the Kutz Theatre of the Lackland Performing Arts Center at Centenary University, located at 715 Grand Ave, Hackettstown, NJ, throughout November.

Tickets for the performances range from $25.00 to $27.50 for adults, with discounts available for students and children on select shows. Thursday evening performances include a “Buy One Get One” ticket night, starting at 5:30 PM at the box office.

Dr. Glas
The festival opens with Dr. Glas, adapted by Jeffrey Hatcher from the classic Swedish novel by Hjalmar Söderberg. The production stars Daniel Gerroll as the titular character, a Swedish physician who becomes obsessed with another man’s wife and contemplates murder to win her heart. Originally published in 1905, Dr. Glas has seen various adaptations, but Hatcher’s version is the first serious American adaptation. Performances are scheduled for November 7 at 7:00 PM, November 8 and 9 at 8:00 PM, and November 10 at 2:00 PM. Tickets for Dr. Glas are priced between $22.50 and $27.50.

My Buddy
Following Dr. Glas, My Buddy brings to life the legendary comedian Buddy Hackett through the eyes of his son, Sandy Hackett. This live musical production explores their deep bond and includes anecdotes from their time together on the road. Performances are set for November 14 at 7:00 PM, November 15 and 16 at 8:00 PM, and November 17 at 2:00 PM. Tickets for My Buddy also range from $22.50 to $27.50.

Courage
The festival concludes with Courage, a one-person play by John Pielmeier, known for his acclaimed work on Agnes of God. This production delves into the life of J.M. Barrie, the creator of Peter Pan. Performances will take place on November 21 at 7:00 PM, November 22 and 23 at 8:00 PM, and November 24 at 2:00 PM. Tickets for Courage are available for $25.00 to $27.50.
