Centenary University announces 2026 Athletics Hall of Fame class
HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. (Warren County) — Centenary University has announced its 2026 Athletics Hall of Fame class, honoring a group of standout former student-athletes and contributors whose achievements left a lasting impact on Cyclones athletics. The announcement came during the university’s Alumni and Family Weekend celebration, with an induction ceremony scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 31, at Reeves Gymnasium on Centenary’s Hackettstown campus.
Leading the 2026 class is softball standout Meagan Madsen (2011–2014), one of the most decorated players in program history. Known for her dominance on the mound and leadership on the field, Madsen helped guide the Cyclones to several winning seasons while etching her name into the school’s record books.
From the wrestling mat, Chris Burdge (2010–2014) joins the Hall of Fame as one of Centenary’s most accomplished competitors. An All-American, Burdge played a pivotal role in shaping Centenary’s nationally recognized wrestling legacy.
Jess Sikora (2004–2007) will be inducted for her stellar soccer career. A dynamic and consistent presence on the field, Sikora was instrumental in the program’s success and is remembered as one of the most dominant players in Centenary women’s soccer history.
Nigel Archibald (2002–2005) represents baseball in this year’s class. A cornerstone of the early 2000s Cyclones squads, Archibald’s leadership and performance helped establish Centenary baseball as a perennial conference contender.
The 2005 Centenary Baseball Team will also be honored as this year’s Team Inductee. The championship-winning squad made history by capturing the conference title and becoming one of only two Cyclones teams ever to advance to the NCAA Regional Tournament.
Rounding out the class, Fred Mangione (Class of 1993) will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of his professional success and continued dedication to Centenary. Mangione, who received an honorary degree from the university in 2015, was recently named chief business officer for the FIFA World Cup 2026 New York New Jersey Host Committee.
“Fred’s career and commitment to excellence truly reflect the values Centenary strives to instill in its students,” university officials said in a statement announcing the honorees.
