Centenary University holds 9/11 memorial service

HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. (Warren County) — Centenary University held its annual 9/11 memorial service Thursday morning, honoring the victims of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks and recognizing local first responders.

The ceremony began with the Posting of the Colors by American Legion Post 164, followed by a welcome and invocation from the Rev. Timothy Nicinski. Erin Clark performed the national anthem.

Hackettstown Mayor Jerry DiMaio and Centenary University President Dale Caldwell delivered remarks, and the Student Government Association presented a memorial wreath. The keynote address was given by Dr. Barbara Lewthwaite.

The service concluded with a benediction by Rev. Nicinski and the Retiring of the Colors. Police from Hackettstown, Mansfield Township, and Mount Olive were also recognized during the ceremony.
