
Child resuscitated after near-drowning at Somerset County pool
BERNARDS TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Somerset County) — A 9-year-old boy is in stable condition after lifeguards rescued him from the water and performed life-saving measures at Pleasant Valley Pool, according to Bernards Township police.
The incident occurred last week at Pleasant Valley Pool, located at 3405 Valley Road in the Basking Ridge section of the township.
Police said the child was swimming when he drifted into the deeper end of the pool and became submerged underwater for a period of time.
Lifeguards noticed the boy, pulled him from the water and immediately began life-saving measures with assistance from pool staff, police said.
The child was revived at the scene before being transported to Morristown Medical Center, where he remains in stable condition.
The incident remains under investigation by the Bernards Township Police Department.
