Volunteers clean up new open space lot on Mountain Road in Hunterdon County

READINGTON TOWNSHIP, NJ (Hunterdon County) – Volunteers from the Open Space Advisory Board (OSAB), Readington Trail Association (RTA), Raritan Headwaters Association (RHA), and local Girl Scouts teamed up on Saturday to clean up a newly preserved open space lot on Mountain Road in Readington Township.

The group worked together to remove trash and invasive weeds in preparation for a new hiking trail, which will connect the Cushetunk Nature Preserve to Mountain Road.

During the cleanup, volunteers made some interesting finds, including an animal skull and a well-loved stuffed animal.

The trail is set to be completed in the spring, and the OSAB continues its efforts to preserve more land in the township, increasing its annual goal to 200 acres per year.
