Readington Township police seek man wanted on false imprisonment charge

READINGTON TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Hunterdon County) — Readington Township police are seeking the public’s help in locating a man wanted on a charge of false imprisonment after he failed to appear in court on multiple occasions, authorities said.

Police identified the man as Nicholas M. Veglatte, 41. An active warrant for his arrest was issued Aug. 14, 2025, by the Readington Township Municipal Court, according to the Readington Township Police Department.

Veglatte is wanted in connection with a charge of false imprisonment and is accused of failing to appear in court twice, police said.

Authorities described Veglatte as 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighing about 180 pounds, with blue eyes. He is believed to be in the Readington Township and Branchburg Township areas.

Anyone with information regarding Veglatte’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Readington Township Police Department at 908-534-4031. Tips may be provided anonymously.
