Commissioner Director Lanza and County Clerk Melfi address members of the ‘Leadership Hunterdon’ Class

HUNTERDON COUNTY, NJ – Commissioner Director John E. Lanza, along with County Clerk Mary Melfi, addressed members of the Leadership Hunterdon Class on Friday, February 14, sharing their insights and experiences as county leaders and discussing key public policy issues facing the county.

Leadership Hunterdon, an immersive program initiated in 2012 by the Hunterdon Chamber of Commerce, begins each September and meets once a month through graduation in June. The program is designed to inspire and educate future leaders in the community, offering participants the opportunity to engage in workshops, discussions, and networking that focus on the challenges and opportunities facing the county.

“Leadership Hunterdon is a great program designed to invest in the next generation of leaders, ensuring the growth and success of Hunterdon County. It is an honor to participate in this program alongside Clerk Mary Melfi and to engage with such talented and driven individuals,” Lanza said.

Sessions for the program cover specific aspects of the county, such as business, education, economic development (tourism), environmental/agriculture, finance, healthcare/wellness, legal/criminal issues, and government/media communications.

“Leadership Hunterdon provides a unique platform to connect emerging leaders who are passionate about making a difference in our county. I am proud to support this program and enjoy engaging with the group each year,” Melfi said.

The event featured discussions on key issues affecting Hunterdon County, including economic development, community engagement, and public service, emphasizing the importance of collaboration and highlighting the vital role of civic involvement and leadership in sustaining a strong community.
