
Commissioners recognize outstanding achievements of North Hunterdon HS student Riley Conaty
HUNTERDON COUNTY, NJ – Hunterdon County Commissioners recently recognized Riley Conaty for her outstanding accomplishments as both a trailblazing athlete and a talented performer.
Conaty was honored with a proclamation celebrating her achievements as the North Hunterdon Lions Wrestling Team’s First Female Tri-County Champion, and for her lead role as “Elle Woods” in the in the ShowKids Invitational Theater (SKIT) production of “Legally Blonde”.
Commissioner Director John Lanza shared some words of praise, “On behalf of the entire Board, I would like to congratulate Riley, who exemplifies the qualities of leadership, grace, and determination in both athletics and performing arts that serves as an inspiration to her peers. Ms. Conaty’s success reflects the values of hard work, perseverance, and community engagement that Hunterdon County values.”
Girls’ wrestling has seen tremendous growth, at the high school and youth levels, with more female athletes competing at both the state and national levels. Just recently the NCAA voted to make women’s wrestling an official championship sport for the 2025-2026 season, with more than 1,200 women competing in wrestling at NCAA schools.
SKIT was founded in 1986, as a non-profit community theater program offering young performers of Hunterdon County, and surrounding areas, an opportunity to experience professional quality theater of full-scale family oriented musicals.
“Legally Blonde” the musical will run for a second weekend at Voorhees High School: January 25th at 2:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., and January 26th at 2:00 p.m.
